I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You (Gallagher Girls)

This book was pretty good! The title is pretty long, so I think I will call it...Book 1, since it's the first book of the Gallagher Girls Series. Book 1 follows the main character named Cammie Morgan. The story is a first person point of view, with Cammie narrating. The main thing about the book is that she goes to a girl's school for spies. No one really knows it's a spy school though, so everyone thinks it's just a stuck-up girls private school.
Anyway, Cammie can do all this super spy kind of stuff, but then she meets a boy! OMG crazy! They go on dates, talk, yadda, yadda, yadda. Then she has to do a test-thing 9I think) and then the boy (honestly, can't remember his name...consults book...) whose name is Josh wrecks it, and then her mom, who guess what, is the principal of said spy school, finds out and all this crazy stuff.
I decided to give this book three stars, originally I was going to give it four stars, but then I realized, I couldn't really remember much of what happened. I read this in December of 2024 and I know I don't have that much brain-rot to forget what happened in a whole book. The characters weren't very memorable, and the storyline was ok. I kind of liked it, it was still a fun story to read, but not "I'm going to reread and remember this book forever! I will buy it and love it on my bookshelf! The title is (in my opinion) to long to remember and type efficiently. I didn't even want to read the rest of the series. There are six books in total, according to the Storygraph, not counting short half-sequels.
You can tell I'm definitely not as passionate for this book as I was for my review of The Hidden Oracle, which I thoroughly enjoyed, see review here. Would I recommend it? Maybe. If you like spy-romances, you might like it. It's not a terrible book, it just didn't grab me in a way that would make me want to read the rest of the series or the book again.
"She's always telling me that the worst part of spy life isn't the danger -- it's the paperwork"
